Californians and Oregonians for Balanced Laws
Reevaluate, Revise, Repeal Bad Sex Offender and Mandatory Sentencing Laws
What’s the Problem?
Several factors have come together to create an environment that can no longer be tolerated by a citizenry that cares about justice:
1. Broken criminal justice system: A growing population of sex offenders, who in fact pose less harm to the public than the District Attorneys who mislabeled them.
2. Bad Laws: An ever-increasing severity and lack of balance in sex offender laws.
3. Denial of rights: A steady erosion of basic human rights guaranteed by our constitution.
4. Deceived public: A distinct difference between the facts and what people believe when they hear the words “sex offender.”
What Can We Do About It?
Who Are We?
This web site has been created by families and friends of those whose lives have been undeservedly damaged by the label “sex offender.” We are dedicated to analyzing, exposing, and addressing the convergence of circumstances that have allowed perfectly normal people to be prosecuted and persecuted in our country.
We are part of a growing national voice, now including 31 of our 50 states, fighting together to reclaim balance and justice in our laws.
We do not deny the serious danger of rapists, child molesters, or predators.
1. Speak out with a single, coherent voice to educate the public about the need to change the laws.
2. Work locally with legislators, state-by-state, to articulate the problems and propose solutions.
3. Work nationally with legislators to reverse the damage of over-reaching federal mandates.
4. Provide support for families of sex offenders by helping locate living and working arrangements that keep families together and viable.
5. Familiarize ourselves with our local jurisdictions and find ways to hold them accountable.
